Yoga promotes strength, flexibility, mental awareness and relaxation. According to ancient tradition, there are eight limbs of classical yoga. Hatha Yoga uses three of those limbs. First, it uses physical postures or asanas. Second, yoga requires that we pay attention to our breath, a practice known as pranayama. Third, yoga entails internal mental focus and concentration, or dharana. At its core, yoga helps us understand our true nature, and teaches us how to harmonize and balance aspects of ourselves.
In these classes you will learn the principles of alignment for each posture, and the mechanics of how the body works.
This therapeutic class focuses on building a solid foundation of yoga postures, using the breath. Classes include standing postures, balance postures, supine postures, abdominals, hip-openers, gentle backbends, restoratives, and relaxation.

She knows how to choreograph a yoga session to optimize the benefits of the class. She pays attention to the capabilities and limitations of each of her students. She crafts her classes around a theme so that every class has a focus. What is special about Claudia is her warmth and humor. Because of this, every student knows that he/she is in a safe, nurturing place where his/her practice can grow. "

"Claudia has been teaching yoga to my two daughters, ages 8 1/2 and 11, for the past five years. They always love going to her class, as she makes it fun for them. They learn many yoga poses each class, and she incorporates poses into games for them as well. They do handstands, sun salutations and mediation. I have seen the improvement in their poses and strength. She is a wonderful teacher."

"I had the pleasure of meeting Claudia while I was attending a Functional Restoration program. She focused on mindfulness, breathing and relaxation techniques.
During a session, she performed an exercise that was extremely relaxing. I decided to incorporate the technique during my children's night routine right before bed.
My eleven and twelve year old loved it and slept amazing. They woke up refreshed and asked if we could continue doing it.
One evening, I got caught up doing things and directed my children to go to bed. A little later on my eleven year old came to me and said he is restless and wanted to do our nightly relaxation technique. We performed it together and he went off to bed. He again woke up rested and in a great mood!
Thank you Claudia for helping me bond with my children and giving them something we can use to maximize our sleeps! "
